The Kenai Peninsula Orchestra presents concerts of chamber music as part of the 2017 Summer Concert Series, Friday August 4th, 7:30 PM, at Soldotna Christ Lutheran Church, and Sunday, August 6th, at 7:30 PM, at Homer’s Faith Lutheran Church. UAA Professor of Woodwinds Mark Wolbers on basset horn, Soldotna flautist Tomoka Raften, Homer percussionist Scott Bartlett, and Kenai pianist Maria Allison will perform three works. On the program is Beethoven’s Trio for piano, flute and basset horn in G major, Weber’s Trio for piano, flute and basset horn in G minor, and Ney Rosauro’s Rhapsody for percussion and piano. The audience will be treated to a wonderful variety of music from the Classical and Romantic eras to the Brazilian folkloric and jazz-influenced sounds of the Contemporary.
