Winter (??) 2014 Newsletter

Happy Winter!  It is our hope that by the time you read this, we will actually have a bit more of winter here in Alaska!  Read on for more info about:

  • Audience & Musician Surveys
  • Annual Meeting
  • Percussion Project
  • Pick.Click.Give.
  • Link Up: The Orchestra Sings

After an incredible Summer Music Festival, we asked you what you thought of our program, and we surveyed our fine musician corps what they would like to see in the coming years.  Please visit http://kpoalaska.com/?p=745 to find Mellisa’s report, along with links to the graph reports of each survey.

Our Staff and Board have been hard at work reviewing 2014 and planning for 2015!  We will be sharing at least some of those plans with you at our Annual Meeting to Membership on Sunday, January 11, 2015 at 3:30pm at the Kenai Peninsula Fairground in Ninilchik.  Please join us for reports from the directors, food and a few surprises as we share some of our plans for 2015.  Staff and directors will also be available for questions as well.

Our recent Evening of Christmas was a huge success!  Thank you to all of the musicians who participated, Mr. Nissen and the Kenai Peninsula Singers (a wonderful new addition that we hope will continue!), the amazing house décor and reception teams, and the most incredible audience who participated in the evening!  Thanks to all who gave so generously to KPO’s new percussion project (see http://kpoalaska.com/holiday-drums-for-kpo/ for more details)!

An incredibly easy way to support KPO and its projects is through the Alaska PFD Pick.Click.Give. program.  When you apply for your PFD and choose to Pick.Click.Give. to any organization, you will automatically be entered into the Double Your Dividend Sweepstakes – 10 lucky Alaskans will double their dividend, simply by choosing to Pick.Click.Give.!  (Be sure to provide your contact information in order to be entered in the sweepstakes!)  There’s never been an easier way to support causes you care about!

Our next upcoming event will be our presentation of Link Up: The Orchestra Sings featuring students from 9 area elementary schools on Friday, January 30 and Saturday, January 31.  For more information, please visit http://kpoalaska.com/events/link-up/ .
