KPO Gala Concert (Soldotna)
The Kenai Peninsula Orchestra conducted by Tammy Vollom-Matturro presents British Classics. The program includes the symphonic blockbuster, The Planets, Op. 32, a seven-movement orchestral suite by composer Gustav Holst. Each movement represents Holst’s defined astrological character of the planets in the Solar System. The mysterious score, Enigma Variations, Op. 36, by Edward Elgar is said to contain secrets and clues within it. Finally, the Overture to the Wasps will wrap up the concert.
